the undercroft, manchester
Note the homage to the Smiths penned on the wall beside the police notice. Variously said to be the hang-out of a contemporary serial killer, vicious muggers and locus of a cottaging industry, this path runs alongside a section of the Rochdale Canal, between Dale Street and Minshull Street and is known as the 'Undercroft'. By day it's grimy enough but by night it must have been especially grim. I'll never get the chance to find out though as since early 2017 it has been kept locked at night.
